Default Is this the right place to post a fishing report?

Glad I didn't take my boots off when I got home--this place is knee-deep in B.S.

No kidding. You should see the gay PMs I keep getting from horseturd. Then again, maybe you shouldn't.

Speaking of gay, I was thinking of you today. Dang it was cold and I knew you were off slinging those 3/32 ounce jigs and torturing minnows at the secret spot. How did you do? Please, make something up if you have to cuz the usual crowd has been flat shut out lately.

Two stops today--a friend's private pond for a couple of hours (one spec and 2 greenies) and Pickett Reservoir for about 5 hrs. (59 specs and a dozen or so greenies.) The Pickett specs ate up the minnows (frozen or moving) plus the usual color jigs (red/black/chart). As usual, most were small, but 20 or so were medium or better, including a 12-incher and an almost-11.

Several of the greenies were 18", give or take a couple of inches. I was about to take a picture of one of the largest of them, but a nice spec hit another line, so I heaved the greenie.

It was cold (launched the boat through ice),

but not too windy--my trusty insulated coveralls kept the weather out. All in all, a nice day at the office!

    Default Jig taste test

At least for now, red/black (or dark green)/chart is the color combo for Pickett Reservoir. Fish elsewhere pay no attention to this combo, but here it's the ticket. In addition to the basic red/black/chart tubes (which work fine), certain combos of red jigs (3/32 oz) with bigger bodies also work. Of the three combos shown below, best results came from the dark green/chart Slab Slayer.

Water temp varied from 38 to 39 where I was fishing, but the bite was strong. I've caught them steadily for many weeks with corks set 6' - 7' above the minnows, regardless of water depth. In some places that meant I was dragging bottom, but in others the minnows were as much as 4' off the bottom. Don't forget--this lake is overpopulated with small/medium specks. That means they have appetites like teenage boys at a pizza party. :D

Corker, you should be proud of yourself. At least someone on this board still fishes.

    Nice work.

This is terrible! Envious of you catchin fish and Bill & the Deleter all in 1 post.

J/k man, thats a nice mess of fish and good effort & report. Bill I heard you 10-4 rubber ducky. I'm sure I came out with some qualifiers while on my 1.5 day rampage I took myself on, a wonder I could even find the keyboard & keep the letters comin.' Dont even wanna go back and see what kinda thin ice I may have walked on, it cant be good.
Cork that was a nice PM ya sent me, will address it proper soon. Done fergot all about that Asian boy.
Now Wasabi, what in tarnation brought on that brutal attack? Send me yur e-address again, I fergot to put it in the book. I have some material I think you will agree needs review. It is the kinda material only yer so-called C.c "friends keep ya supplied with and its a wonder they will let some of these guys own computers man, some truly brutal footage. Tonight the ol lady was within earshot as I took 1 outta the mailbox and opened it. The volume was up a tad high and it became immediately evident that was not a sneak preview of the re-make of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Ol lady got close enuf to catch a visual and said "WHAT IN THE NAME OF JELLY ARE THEY DOING?" I explained it to her how the introduction introduced the 2 starring characters in the scene, 2 young ladys. I tole her it looked to me like one had gotten an early Xmas an seemed like the 2 of them were very close friends and moral of the story was not really meant as a message to kids but I came away feeling refreshed that the one so willing shared her toys with the other. I think it was the spirit of Xmas type message, trying to promote good social graces in youth atleast 21 yrs old. I tried to git the ol lady to give me her insight and opinion of the show but it dint seem to be her cup of tea, and left saying sumthin about sick puppies. Guess her mind was on the kennel she works at?
I have never seen a 1 act play have a PG93 rating, very confusing the new method that must be in use nowadays.
