    Default Mullett Gizzards????

While waiting to get a hair cut yesterday, I picked up a magazine, noticed a article on seafood recipies. There it was ..."Mullett Gizzards". Didn't get the details of the recipe, had to get in the chair. I don't even think Shoer has tried a mess of Mullett Gizzards.
Might have to go back and get the details if no one can fess up to having cooked up a mess of them.

I Googled mullet gizzards out of curiosity. Kinda wish I hadn't. At any rate, it appears they make a tasty snack with wine or tea?
    Here's one recipe.
"Barbecued Mullet Gizzard: Sprinkle a little salt on mullet gizzards. String them with cotton thread and sun-dry them. To serve, barbecue them with an electric oven or over charcoal fire. They taste as crisp and delicious as dried shredded squid. They are perfect snack with tea or wine."
Wow! As good as dried shredded squid? I'm sold!
Before you get too excited, this recipe was on the same site..........
"Mullet head contains rich protein and calcium and is an ideal material for making fish head casserole. Deep-fry a mullet head with other materials. Then, quick-fry flatfish and add stock, tender bean curd, Chinese cabbage, carrot, dried tiger lily buds, edible tree fungi, dried shrimps, bean curd sheets, garlic, chilli pepper, scallion, pork (side port), etc. to stew for about 30 minutes. And then, add the deep-fried mullet head and continue to stew with satay sauce. What a delectable dish!"
Now I've got to get to the grocery and buy some dried tiger lily buds and some bean curd sheets.
Do gooder since April 26, 2009!

Gota ya, something you haven't ran across your pallett. Well, you still have my respect, being from a area that mullet was not a stable item in the grochery store. Check with those Hampton boys they might be able to hook you with a few mullet heads.
