That really works. I've used it several times on friends. Every one said they didn't feel a thing.

I had it done on me once and it really works great. The only thing I would add if I was doing it was to take my side cutters and clip the other two hook points off of that trebble hook so they don't hook somewhere else in the removal process.

After that hook removal for me I now always have a pair of side cutters on the boat which so far they have only been used for cutting braid.

Great video. I used that method once on a brother in law and it worked fine. Once while speckle trout fishing my wife while landing a fish on a double shad rig got snagged by the loose hook in the palm of her hand. It was not deep but beyond the barb. Without any fanfare I reached in there before she had time to think and grabbed the jig and pushed it downward and backwards at the same time and out popped the hook. She looked at me as if to say "what the hell are you doing" but it was over and she said, "don't ever do that again". As I said great video, maybe the guy got hooked because there was too much liquid missing from that bottle. Liquid has a way of causing problems on the water.

The old hook to the hand trick!!!! Dont ya hate when that one happens???? Once when we were kids i hung a jig in my brothers jaw man he squealed like a pig dad just poked the hook thru cut off the barb eased it back out. Didn,t hurt me at all but you couldn,t get my brother to walk behind me with a rod in my hand... Why don,t he want to go fishing with me???

i have used that proceedure severaltimes on others . it works great. i have even gotten hooks out of my self that way using the boat cleat to jerk the hook out. it is alot better than going to the hospital. i have found that it works better to leave more line between the hook and the jerker . it lets you get a little momentum going to bring the hook out quickly with out as much pain as the slow close method. but what ever works so you dont have to leave the hook in is better than sitting in a waiting room waiting on a doctor to cut the thing out.
