APCO pulling Claytor down
Starting tomorrow APCO will pull Claytor down about a foot a day until Friday..It is to aid residents in repairing docks, walls, etc...It is a good thing for them but it screws up the crappie fishing...Some folks do well under these conditions but I never have...I will probably get a few waypoints from Spec & Doc & fish Smith Mtn a couple of days

I usually don't fish during the drawdown, but I've been thinking about putting in at the state park and go upstream to get a visual on the stretch from the bridge to little wytheville. How long are they keeping it down this year? I've been thinking they might extend it becdause they didn't draw it down last year.

This is from AEP's site
THE CLAYTOR LAKE DRAWDOWN WILL START MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2008. THE LAKE WILL BE LOWERED NO MORE THAN ONE FOOT PER DAY UNTIL THE ELEVATION IS DOWN FIVE (5) FEET BY SATURDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 8, 2008. THE LAKE WILL BE DOWN FIVE FEET UNTIL SATURDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 22, WHEN, AT THAT TIME, THE LAKE WILL BE ALLOWED TO REFILL.
