Default The deep water chick lake crappie were tight lipped

HanMan and I fished the channel in the sharp turn of the lake most of the day. The fish were holding tight to the bottom and would not move to take a bait. Our best luck was finding a school of baitfish in the area and fish around that. I caught about 10 keepers fishing that way as the active crappie were with the food. The only problem was everytime I would find a nice school, a bass boat would come roaring through and scatter the bait. One came by me so close the spray from his wake got the inside of my boat a little wet. Those negative fish should turn on any time now and someone is in for one fine day.

I did stop by one of Shoer's favorite places on my way back to the dock. My cheap 'ole 997 found it with no problems. It actually looked like the place to fish. There were little white dots bunched together everywhere in that area. There is always next trip.
