OT: Vacu-seal recommendations.
My vacuum sealer bit the dust toward the end of putting up sausage last night. Just as well, it was a gimme back in TX and never did a particularly good job of getting the air out, etc....various functions that were not very handy or efficient.
Anyway, it is gettin the 30-30 treatment soon as it quits raining. I am lookin to replace it and looking to you folks for input on models you might have and how you like em. I use one on rare occasion so am not looking for a top shelf model, just something that vacuums & seals.
Any tips are appreciated.

Jeff, did you try searching here on the site? They have been discussed several times before and some good info brought out.

Can't remember the model, but we bought one from cabelas for at work(country club). Its held up well, not a commercial model, but 2 years of commercial use and still going strong.
Has to cool off if getting heavy use,say 30 bags or more in a row,and bags are pricey(aren't they all?)
I'd like to see a review on those new ones for at home, little hand held pump but the bags are unique.Zip-locks with a valve,so they are reusable.

Don't get the Kenmore, had two of them. First one went bad under waranty, second broke right after waranty was out.
