Default The Official 10-26 Chick Lake Results Thread

I caught 34 fish total; 31 crappie, 2 catfish, and 1 bass. Eighteen of the crappie were between 10" and 12". The pattern that worked for me today was water 14' to 19' deep and fish a foot or two off the bottom. They were holding fairly tight to the bottom or on the occasional weed patch I would go over. The most productive area was just past the sharp right hand turn a couple miles from Ed Allens.

About 70% of the fish came on Stroll'Rs (I had 6 Stroll'Rs and 6 other jigs on my rods). Most productive colors were black/chartreuse, black/hot pink, and Cajun Cricket. I also got several fish on a Blue Ice Baby Shad.

Water was stained with a surface temp around 60°. It was a nice day to be out fishing.

Nice report Pan! Glad you were able to get out. Sounds like a great day.
Now you've gone and made me want to order more lures. (Stroll'Rs)

    Default Nice catch

A great day on the water. I see a lot of the fishermen here use live bait. And a slow troll, I troll kinda fast I,m very interested to see how these diferent technics will catch fish.

Good report. Where is the report from the other half dozen guys? Thanks for the bait delivery. The strollers tail is out to the side of the body. Weird. Did you notice if it makes it track to the side when trolled? That tail should have a good thump to it.

I'm trolling between .8 mph and 1.2 mph. I like to stay around .8 but will speed up some to give the fish something different to look at.

I'm not sure where the rest of the reports are.

The Stroll'Rs track straight as far as I can tell. The tail has quite a bit of movement but there is not enough energy to move the jig off line.

Diecutter and myself didn't take any pictures, but we got a few decent catfish, some crappies (only threw one back rest were keepers) some dinky white perch, some large mouth bass, and 1 blue gill.

Diecutter was catching everything with lures, I didn't have any luck at all with jigs or spinners. Everything I caught was off minnows dropp fishing or trolling with them.

I got 27 crappie, 2 ring perch, 3 blue cats and 1 bass. Largest crappie was 14 inches. Was fishing about the same pattern as Panman. I used 4 rods with strollers and 4 with jigs tipped with minnows. Chartreuse /Pink did well again for me today. I caught most of the crappie in the area PanMan was talking about. Was good to see everyone and a BIG thanks to Kieth, Howard and Jeff for helping me find some fish. I haven't fished that side of the dam in a long time.

These made it home to meet MisterTwister.
