Biker Bob (my nick name for my neighbor) his girl friend and about 6 others leave today for S.C. and a week of crappie fishing. Bob has made arangements with a guide down there to take so many of them out on his pontoon tomorrow and drop the others off on some structure in their boat. Bob is taking a GPS and marking the brush piles tomorrow then they will be on their own the rest of the week. They all are staying in State own rental cabins on the lake. Kind of like what we have been talking about up at Buggs. Will give you all an up date when he gets back.

My step dad is from Georgetown County down there. He says he sure did like fishn' the Santee. He's an old cane pole type, but hes got himself one of them fancy pants fiberglass jobs now. No reel, no guides, just a pole.

Years ago we had friends that lived on Lake Marion near Monk's Corner. We used to go down there but only fished for bass and catfish. Beautiful lake tho.

It has been 9 or so years since I went down to Santee. It was myself, my wife, and a friend and his wife. After 5 days of fishing between us we had one fish. It was over 2lb but only one fish. Our friend had been going down there for over 20 years and knew the spots where to go, so we thought, but it didn't turn out that way. Biker Bob got home Thur. evening. Didn't talk to him very long. There where 6 of them and they caught 6 fish with the guide on monday. Fishing with a guide and only caught 6 fish. Did not get a bite the rest of the week. Sounds like Santee is just as good as it was 9 years ago. Told biker Bob to get his mess right and he and his girl friend follow us up to the Bash on the 15th. Don't know if he'll come or not.
