Thread: Hey grumpy Friday fishermen, it was ON Thursday!

I went out Thursday. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm glad I had a late afternoon dentist appointment. It allowed me to leave work a little early and squeek out a couple hours fishing afterwards. And with the sun going down so fast this time of year it really did turn out to only be a couple hours. It was dark dark dark before 7 PM.

It was a slow start. I started in deep water (18'), picked up a couple green carp off the bottom, but no crappie. I drifted from 18 to 16' and picked up a fish or two. Decided to go shallow and paddled over to a flat. Tried 3 to 6' and slow slow slow. Water temp was that magical 60 so I thought maybe they had moved up shallower than usual, but in fact they had pulled off of previous 8' of water I had been catching them.

Paddled back to 12 to 16' and must have parked right over top of them. I started pulling them in left and right and they were all nice 11 and 12" fish. They all seemed plump too. It was getting a little crazy just trying to manage two rods. I had a bobber on one and a double dropper rig on the other. All fish came on or near the bottom. 2 hours work and maybe 20 nice fish. I knew it was gonna be good because I had forgotten the camera so here are some phone pics:

Be sure to bring all of that canoe mojo with you tomorrow. Maybe it can neutralize some of the skunky smell that's developed in the CorkDragger lately.

I am having a problem at this lake though. A road goes over the dam and one of the homeowners loudly curses at me when he rides by on his bicycle! He's dressed up in his little french bike riding outfit with silky shirt and silly hat. It is very strange but I can hear him coming because I start to hear these quiet curses, then they get louder and louder as he goes by, then they fade off into the distance. He appears pissed that I am supposedly trespassing. He hollers stuff like:

"Who the XXXX do you think you are?!?!?!!?"
"You piece of XXXXXXX XXXX!!!!"
"What the XXXX do you think you are doing?!?!?!"


It really angers me when he does it cuz I'm not used to letting someone just do that without some response. But I keep my mouth shut cuz that honey hole is so sweet! I'm drinking his milkshake catching all those sweet crappie! :D He never stops to tell me to leave, never seemingly calls the cops, just wants to run his mouth and keep going. I have permission from another homeowner if he does, it's just being on the receiving end of his abuse that makes me want to track him down and see where the discussion takes us.

Maybe the guy has Tourette's...at the very least give him the one finger wave and continue fishing.

Does your friend know who this guy is? Are you sure he's a resident of the neighborhood?

I commend You for Your patience and trying to save a sacred spot. I am afraid I am not as good a fellow as you and would have answered his call with.

If he comes back and runs his mouth more, show the pansy the bottom of the drink and his peddle toy too.....that might go a bit far but I would leave the option on the table.

I'm sure you got some favored reply that You would like to tell him. these are just some i thought of quickly off the top of my head. That makes me mad as hXXX just thinking about it. Let me know if you need help cussing him out. Would be glad to help. CF

He is more than likely not even mad at you, he is mad at his whole situation. He is wearing a silk shirt, tight shorts with a diaper built in, has a little seat jammed up his keister, and has to dodge people like shoer and I that pass those idiots. He more than likely doesnt even like riding but his boyfriend talked hin into spending all his money on that bike and costume.
