Default Got more than 50 minnows per person aboard?

You could get a ticket if you don't have a receipt. I've never heard of this being enforced, however, it is the law.

There's no fine--you just have to eat enough minners to get the count down to 50--then you're legal again! :D

This will probably be enforced at Beaverdam for the bash. Call the ranger station back and tell them that we each are usually fishing with 5 dozen a piece. This would be OK if they would give 1 Ticket to someone driving a boat like an idiot but i have never heard of that.

That law has been around for quite a while but like I said, I've never heard of it being enforced. From what I've heard it come about because of the thousands of shad being caught and then just dumped on the ground when people were done fishing or they just died from having too many. Anyway, that's what I was told.

Default This law gives life meaning..........

........to Grandpa "I'll git to 12 yet" Jones, the infamous minnow man at Adams Sports Mart in Providence Forge.

Somebody will suffocate him with that apron he wears if he one day turns to a customer, after 13.8 minutes of excrutiating waiting, and says "Just tryin to keep you legal, boy."

Once again the confusing "exceptions" rules cause undue consternation, as exception #2 says.......
Carp, bowfin, longnose gar, mullet, yellow bullhead, brown bullhead, black bullhead, snail bullhead, white sucker, northern hogsucker, gizzard shad, threadfin shad, white perch, yellow perch, alewife and blueback herring [see limits under Anadromous (coastal) in table), stoneroller (hornyhead), fathead minnow, golden shiner, and goldfish - unlimited

Most bait shop minnows are either golden shiners, fathead minnows, or both.

Shellquacker in that I'm not no rocket sicentist nor a U.S. Senator who writes law, I take that if the minnows we use are flathead, I'm OK with all 500 in my minnow bucket cruising down the lake. This being that they are listed under the exception category which ends with "unlimited". Is this right.

Only on days that it is legal to crow hunt. M, W, F and Sat. If you have over 50 minners on Sunday, you bess be taking 'em to church. Have them blessed and playing in Holy water.

That's the way I read it Andy, which makes one wonder why they bother with the "50 bait minnow" thing, then turn around and say the same species are unlimited.
I took well over 100 minnows to the NWR perch bash and the game warden didn't say a thing. (of course I didn't see him either)
