    Default Minnows per pound please!!

Have seen post on the board in the pass where some of you have purchased minnows by the pound. Was thinking about buying 50 doz. small when we go up the Buggs in mid October. How many pounds will I need? Thanks

You might contact Perry Minnow Farm (757-539-1709) over your way in Winsdor. They may be able to fix you up.

I think a gross of small minnows is about a pound.

Been going up Buggs 15 to 20 years in the fall for 4 days to a week. Never did it before but this year we where thinking about buying most all the minnows we will need at Perry's Minnow Farm (thank you Pan Man) here in Suffolk. I changed out my sand filter unit for my swimming pool some years ago and I took the old one and cut it in half. I would put my left over minnows in it both in the spring and fall and they would keep from week to week. The idea is to keep from having to go out everyday from the camp ground just to get minnows and also we think we might save a few dollars getting them from Perry's and not the bait store. Tank half full has about 10 to 12 gal of water. Plan on putting a lid on it and putting it in the back of the pick up truck. Perry sells them by the pound. All depends on if there is a savings or not to mess with them.
