John, It was good to see you Wednesday & thanks for your help...I ended up with 8 fish with the biggest one, 14 1/2", caught at the dead tree you told me about. Thanks...

I went back Thursday after making a drag tool to see if I could retrieve my rod..I put in at Allisonia and pulled my boat around to the tree where the fiberglass folks tie off...I stepped off the boat on to the stump & there is where I made a bad decision for an old man..I tried jumping to the tree & made it but my feet went out from under me and down I went..I am pretty well scratched up but was very lucky that I didn't break an arm or leg..After cleaning myself up the best I could I went to the dock & on my 5th drag I pulled my rod up...Again, very lucky..

I think I will try to go again Monday if these old bones will stop aching..Joints are sore where I didn't know I had joints...:D

Thanks again for the tip on the dead tree..Big fish hang around there.

I'm glad you found fish AND got your rod back. Sorry to hear about your tumble---us old guys don't bounce like we used to. Might see you there Monday.
