    Default Branch Today 9-20

Got to the lake a little after sunrise. Saw Tap's rig in the lot, along with about 4 others. The water had cooled down quite a bit and the bite was "good". (compared to this summer) I found crappie in 6-8' of water and caught a few fishing 4-5 ft. deep. Caught about 18 in the morning, half on slip bobber/ minnow rig, and half on 1/16th jighead with an electric chicken colored panfish assasin, dressed with a minnow. Kept 10 or so. Largest about 13". Lost 2 that I know would have gone at least 14. (yeah sure). Also caught 3 bass, largest one 3 lb. or so, a really "nice" chain pickerel, a catfish of course, several small bluegill, a couple of small stripers, and a nice pumpkinseed/bluegill mix. (I think)
Shoer had some work relatively close, so he joined me for the afternoon session. Guess he got there about 1 or so. We fished the same areas, but the bite had slowed considerably. We still caught some, with Jeff being the perchmeister for the day with 3 nice ones. (mine was biggest though). He also came through with a couple of crappie and a nice cracker. I caught another couple crappie, big perch, bluegills, and I think we both caught another small striper or 2. We enjoyed chatting with Tapout for a bit too. All in all it was a nice day, and I enjoyed the company Jeff!
Pictures are kinda weak, but it's late.

That was a good time Quack, I appreciate the trip. Not that those perch I caught would excite anyone, like C-Rex, but you forgot to mention that every 1 we caught had a little packet of seasoned breading attached to it with a packet of tartar sauce.
I caught all my fish on Sliders. Why Sliders again you may ask. Simple. They were on there from the Chick trip and I didnt feel like changing lures. That cracker was fun!!!!

I feel like I'm in The Twilight Zone this morning, there wasnt much of a gap between yesterday & today. I am off to Mathews in an hour but just for a few hrs.
Thanks again for a fun trip!!!!!!!

The cooler water seems to have moved them shallower.
4-6' of water (same as most of the crappie we caught) but in different areas than the crappie.

Good to see the bite is turning back on. That electric chicken is pink and chartreuse correct? I've never done well with pink at WB.

I guess they are everywhere right now seeing how I caught them 8' down in 20' of water. Last fall I did real well in 15' of water. I probably don't spend enough time in the shallows, probably since I like to vertical jig so much.

the panfish assassins in lectric chickin are a darker lime and strawberry color. they work in prince too, though not on an everyday basis. different companies seem to have their own version of the chicken color.
