    Default Things are picking up.

It's a good thing fall is just about here, it finally woke up some of the crappie at Western Branch. I managed to catch 32 with the biggest going 1lb even at 12.5".

Sasha and my latest addition Kodi checking it out.

Nothing else was bigger than 10".

But they did hit hard and fought well. I caught 21 of them on the same tree which is completely submerged in 20' of water. Most were caught 8' down with either a minnow or black/chartruese wasshoppah jig. I picked up 5 more at a different tree but what's funny is that both these trees I found by snagging a crank bait on them. Who needs a 997! The only other fish I caught was a small yellow perch.

Pwr198 was on the lake early then I ran into Horseshoer and Shellquacker towards the end of the day. Sounds like everyone was catching fish. It's good seeing fellow crappie.comers on the lake.

Water temp was dead nuts 76 all day long. Never saw the sun which is fine by me.

Nice mess of fish and two fine looking dogs too. I've been catching a few stripers during the summer months but they aint even in comparison toi fresh fried crappie fillets. Now that it's bow season we're hunting some but these cooler temps we're having is putting a pretty good itch in me to hit the water again. Soon...........soon!:D

Nice catch on the big one - those fillets alone should make a meal! Had about the same kinda day to the West, but without the bonus fish. I think I won the jig-losing contest today.
    Glad I could help

Nuthin wrong with that day!!! Thats a great pic with the doggz. Was cool to see ya today and enjoyed bulljivin. Vikes are playing Panthers.

I dont think either you or Les said enuf or not sure if it was brought up but today had to be one of the most comfortable fishin weather days I have ever enjoyed. What, med. 70's? Overcast so thick as to you woulda thought it woulda rained at some point but literally about 4 drops. Man it was nice, light breeze. I got there around 2:00 I think it was.

Good report Tap, glad ya got into em.

You got that right. First day in a long time that I didn't put sun glasses on or suntan lotion. Even had jeans on and was comfortable the whole day. I'll certainly take this over a hot summers day.
