    Default 26 critters at Beaverdam

I say critters because one of them was a big 'ol turtle. He was not happy when I got him to the boat. A quick twist on the jig with my forceps and he was on his merry way.

There were 24 crappie, mostly 9-1/2" to 10" with a few around 11", one bluegill, and the turtle. Most were caught 5'-6' deep over the weeds on the flat near the restricted area. Their preferred color today was white and the water temp was 76°. Since I was fishing the bottom bait rather shallow, I only got two on the top baits today. The top baits were shallow enough that I could see them in the water. I got most of my hits moving at 1.5 mph which is faster than I usually troll.
