Thread: SML today. I'm back!!!!

Got on water before light and messed around marina until light. Striper fisher people catchin bait, and specs in throw net. They put the specs back. Enough light to go up lake so off we went. First stop, two fish. On to the next one, nothing. Not to be discourged, I went to the next stop. I made myself leave after 10. All of them over 11", 4 of them over 13" biggest 14 1/2" 1 lb 8 oz. Pic at bottom. What a dock! Feeling like everything else is "Gravy," I went to next stop. Found them out in front, again. DonG knows what I mean. Pick up several fish with about 8 keepers. Went on to next one that I found last time out. 12 shots under dock, 12 keepers other side of dock almost as good. Ended day with a box of 25 to take home and put in a one piece suit. 43 total. Released all but one over 12" cause he went belly up in live well while waiting to be photgraphed. Anyone that is interested. There is a crappie tournment on SML on Oct. 13 and 27th. I would love to fish it but am getting ready to start a long outage at work that will go through Christmas. Anyone wanting details let me know.

Man thats a banner day on the water and a passle of nice sized fish.
That is the challenge here alot for me; I can find & get the fish to bite in numbers but unlike yur catch there, not be able to get the overall size up. Good pics, glad ya had a good outting. SML too far for me to go for a casual getaway but would sure like to (and will eventually) get there and fish
it.

Let me know in spring, we can fish out of my tub.

It sounds like we need a dock shooting Bash at SML. It has been 15 years since I was last there. I had a small boat and no navigational aids, so I didn't go too many miles from where we put in.
