Talking When oral surgery = crappie fishing.

Tomorrow at 8:00am I get to have a little bit of oral surgery done. I have one tooth that the gum line has receded on and they're going to cut a piece of flesh from the roof of my mouth and stitch it where the gum has receded. The Doc told me to take the day off from work as I will be numbed up and possibly in pain. Checked with the boss and sure enough it qualifies as a sick day (my first in at least two years) so I figured what's the difference if I'm laying on the couch with a bit of pain or if I'm sitting in my boat taking in fresh air. If all goes well I'll be putting in at Western Branch around 10:00. :D I stopped by the bait shop today and got 16 dozen minnows so I'm all set to fish tomorrow and Saturday. You guys that have to work tomorrow enjoy your day. :D

(I get cavities filled without any novacane so I'm not really anticipating any real pain. Even if there is some pain I have some pain pills left over from an elbow problem of mine and heck, it would take a lot more than a little pain to keep me from going crappie fishing.)

any day fishing is better than a day a work.... i would rather not go to the dentist to earn it.. but you have to make hay when then sun shines....

My son had the same procedure done in preparation for braces about 10 years ago. Keep your pain pills handy; you may need one.

maybe you should put a pain pill in the minnow bucket. then they'll get loopy and get ya some crazy sized fish. Hope you don't need to holler for anything, Tap. Might be kinda hard if the mouth's all tore up and numb. I know it's hard to keep my mouth shut when I get something on the line!
Good luck with both the dentist and fishing.
