    Default PanMan Va ?

I had my first gas want go down problem with my boat the other day. I remember you talking about it. Gas ran down into aft minnow well. Killed all the rascals. No protection (lip) to prevent this from happening.

Did anyone come up with a fix?

The only fix I know of is to flow the gas very slowly. I actually turn the nozzle upside down when filling my tank. It helps, but not very much.

I do not think there is enough vent area to vent the tank while filling it and the vent is too close to the filler tube. The pressure builds up and the pump will shut off. I have found that a small amount of fuel will come out of the vent just before it shuts off. That is probably what got in your bait well.

The only solution I can think of is to install a second vent on the other side of the tank and that would require quite a bit of work. It would also probably violate a bunch of safety regulations.

By the way, good job on the transducer mount.:D My transducer is actually mounted on the other ledge of the offset transom. That will make it almost impossible for me to mount the big one back in the same place where the other one was removed. I'm not yet ready to drill more holes below the waterline in my boat.

If you can get to it easily, they make a replacement gas gauge sending unit for the tank that has a built in vent connection. You would have to reroute the vent line to it.

Crappie Stalker and I were out this past Friday. I stopped by Mansard Island for some gas. Gas just didn't want to go down. I had Paul move forward to the bow. Paul bout 6 ft 7 inches and 250+. The gas then went down good. It seems that the nose up attitude of the boat sitting in water affects the gas flow. Sure helps a lot by moving forward when filling up.

I will take a look at the vent Bill. Not easy to see the tank.
