Officially Fountainhead was great today, the water is at normal levels and normal color, the water has warmed enough to do well for any kind of fishn' you like.
Slow start today, taking a 4 year old on a county rental for his first boat ride greatly inhibitied production. However we went back to my old stand by hole after some unexpected potty breaks and diversion for some flathead and channels. Being late in the day I decided 1 fish for each person at home and we split.

Normally I'd have a big cat or 2 to show off but no sooner did I park it on 43 feet of water and get the bait down and I heard "dad my tummy hurts" "dad I need to go poo". Of course theres no place but the woods and a pack of baby wipes (anchors are pointless when fishing with children).

good to see you out! Nice catch there. Your son looks happy to have a stringer. Well done.
the next generation of slabhunters
He sure looks like quite a little fisherman with his Spidey PFD and his grin.
It won't be long and you'll have him honed into a fine asset to have in the boat.
I don't believe there is anything better than enjoying showing our children how life can be so enjoyable without having to use Blues Clues.

"Be Ye Fishers of Men" You catch them- He will clean them
looks like a great day! It won't be long before the potty breaks are a thing of the past. Just teach him to bait his own hook. I still fall for it, she's 27 but I still bait her hook.... she gets 'em off by herself.
Keep having fun with 'em!
What makes a better lightning rod than a graphite fishing rod? NOTHING!
