Default 35 mostly small crappie at Western Branch

Fished all day. Caught 35 crappie with the biggest only going 11.5". I had never caught so many 8"-9" crappie without catching a few 12" or more. I let them all go so they can grow up and turn into real crappie like those 2lbers that I'm after. Caught most of them spider rigging with minnows, they didn't want my spider rigged jigs but would hit the one I was casting to them. I worked water from 5'-14'. I even caught my first, and second, crankbait crappie. Caught three white perch on the crankbaits as well as a yellow perch that wasn't much bigger then the crankbait. One of the white perch was over a pound, it had me going, I thought I had a 2lb crappie on, them white perch fight tough.

Anyone else use a clicker? I'm obsessed with numbers.

Here's the jig I was throwing, orange tail, green on one side and chartreuse on the other, also, the crankbait I caught my two crappie on. I must of tried a dozen before I finally got the crappie to hit this one. (300 series)

Man was it hot out there. Water temp started off at 73 and shot up to 83.

I never thought of using a clicker... my numbers dont get that high......catching all those shorts are fun, and a good sign for next year.... but not if your hungry and looking for a sandwich... I like the 100-200 bandits on braid line....i get a 200 to run 12ft.... my favorite color is shad ( of course ) and all white.. may dad likes a small bomber in chartruse. all in all sounds like fun.... john.

Sounds like ya had plenty of action Tap. I am convinced the citations swim around in an endless quest to keep their presence a secret.

I have a little 3X5 notebook, spiral-bound across the top, that I have put numbers 1-10 on the pages with a dry marker. I normally use it to show chicks their rating on the Shoer Scale when driving beside them, at lights,
even the occasional sidewalk/pedestrian rating. I take it on board the Onion and flip a page to correspond with how many I caught. When I pass 10 I cut the tail off one in the cooler and start again. Good system once yur used to it but back when I got drunk alot I'd come home with twentyteen threety or eleventy-ten.
