Bevel the outer edge of a 2 ft length of 1" PVC to take the sharp edge off
the end of the pipe. Generously smear Corn Huskers Lotion on one end of it, about 10-12 inches or roughly half the length of it. Slowly, gently insert the PVC into the subject rectally. Gently slide it up into the bowel tract until the pocket of gas is reached. It will provide instant relief once vented.
Needless to say, beveling & lubricating the PVC is purely a humanitarian
practice. You won't cut the palms of your hand if you have to hammer it up in there to reach the trapped gas and your hands will be nice and soft & supple after the procedure.
Sure hope Tom is okay.

Made me think of the ol boy had a mule he worked his land with. Good, hard-workin, pullin fool of a mule. Ol boy loved him.
One mornin ol boy goes out to barn to git his mule in harness to go work and mule is layin on its side, eyes open & breathin, but ol boy tries everything,
cant get mule to move. Calls vet, vet comes out, examines mule, asks ol boy
can he rustle up bout 6-7 ft of scrap garden hose? You bet ol boys says, gits it. Vet sticks hose up mules hind end and gives a single big hard blow in the other end. Mules ears twitch, he gits up, shakes it off and is fine. Ol boy thanks & pays vet, goes out has a normal day with the mule workin the field.
Next mornin ol boy finds mule in same shape. Figgers he can do what vet did and save his money. He does, mule responds as before, all is well. Next day same thing happens, ol boy blows in hose, mule gits up. 4 straight days this goes on and on 5th day mule is down again and ol boy blows & blows & blows
but mule does not respond. Neighbor is walkin by and sees tail end of ol boy tryin to resussitate mule. Asks him what the heck is he doin? Ol boy tells him about mule, vet, last several days. Says he has blown so long tryin to git mule up he's outta breath. Neighbor says let me give er a try. Ok ol boy says.
Neighbor slips hose out of mules hinder and swaps hose around end for end and is fixin to put hose back in mule when ol boy says what in the heck are ya doin that for?
Well dang, neighbor says, you and the vet been blowin on the end of that hose for 5 days ya said, ya think I want ya alls' germs?

I have heard the stories of the good ole days on the farm using mules to do the work and how the the mule would lift his tail and give ya a nice warm breeze on chilly mornings while you were holding the plow behind him. Awful generous of him. They call that the good ole days? I'm glad I missed them.:D CF
