This feels like a banner Diascund day to me even though its a bluebird day. For some reason the fish there seem to respond to an overnight freeze this time of year. Wish I were going but got a pile of horses both today & tomorrow.
I refreshed my soul and soothed my mind by reading the works of one of our members last night. I didn't know he had authored anything until I found it in Books A Million.

Congratulations Jeff! You're the very first one to buy a copy. I've got cases of those things sittin' on the shelf over here collecting dust! Slurred Poetry just doesn't sell I guess.![]()

Went out to Northwest Saturday. It was very slow. Probably caught a dozen or so with some pickerel here and there too. Only a couple that were 10". All released for another day. No perch. Water temp 53 and cloudy.
Weather was really nice. Light breeze with plenty of sun.
Brad(SH) and Pete were out there as well as Dave (Tahoe50). Good talking to you guys.

Brian, I looked at you fishing pics. Pretty cool and some nice fish, but who is the terrorist in the last pic. holding the pike![]()
Looks like they were probably trespassing to boot![]()
Father of 4 time bash winner. At least I'm pretty sure
ummmm.... I don't know that guy and I don't know anything about trespassing and catching monster pickerel when it's really really cold outside.Originally Posted by squirrel hunter

Okay Okay.. I'll admit it's me holding the big pickerel. However, I can't discuss location due to possible self-incremenation. It is private property but we've been fishing there since they built the place (can't even call it a lake really) and no one really seems to mind or have caught us yet. (Not sure which). "The place" holds lots of huge pickerel and some big bass too. It's kind of tradition of ours to go fishing for monster pickerel there on either the coldest day of the year, the first snow of the year or the worst-weather day of the year. I think that day was all three combined into one day as the pickerel were huge and plentiful.
