    Default River or Reservoir?

So you are gonna spend the whole day fishing new waters right? Would you rather hit a river system with slabs, smallies, LMB, stripers, cats, sunnies and carp OR a reservoir with slabs, sunnies, smallies, stripers and a few LMB? Which one will be LEAST affected by this week's temps change and which will be the best bet for landing something other than a chill (I can catch something for sure just figuring odds)? SHORE FISHING ONLY SO boats don't count.

Since you are shore fishing I would probably go with whichever one gave you better access to the water.
There's no telling how this weather is going to affect the fishing. Only one way to find out for sure.
    Good luck if you go.

I agree with Freeflow on the access part. I do believe rivers would be least effected by the change. They don't get the fall turn over effect like the lakes do. Plus with the current I think it helps to maintain water temp.

    Default good insight

Guys thanks for the replies. I know the river one has access all along the river and it's off the beaten path AFA fishing goes (low fishing pressure). The reservoir has a $2 fee to fish and you can only access the lake by hiking around. I'm thinking most of those fish will be deep and due to lack of a boat may be hard to reach from shore. I will find out Sat. and let y'all know what came of the trip. Thanks and happy early Turkeyday!
