Pete and I took my big boss man on Sun. It worked out great. We put out all 16 poles and kept busy from 8 til about 2:30.
He had never fished that way before and I think he really enjoyed it. When I told him that I planned to clean all the fish and deliver them to him today, he started putting a lot more in the livewell.
We caught over 100 and kept 30, all over 10 in.
The big news is that the petester caught 1 yellow perch, and it was a big female, 12 in. plus, packed full of eggs. Her timing was way off, maybe she was a scout. No pic., as the ding dong batteries went dead in the camera
Skid Row called me and told me about his hot spot from Sat. so we rolled up there but he musta caught them all Sat. because we didn't catch many. What a HOG
Overall it was a great day and I got to do a little "brown nosing" which can't hurt with Christmas coming and all that:D

Sorry my hot spot wasn't so hot for ya Brad. Glad you were able to wear em out though. I'm sure the Big Boss was stoked by the end of the trip. Delivering all the cleaned fish to him too! Man! Big Brownie Points!

Thats the very best time to get on them. Good new about the yellow perch. Might be a little better down North river ways.

Good report Brad, sounds like a good day.
I was thinking of all the different places that the people on here fish and had to smile about something. Of coarse there is something to be said about the fact that most people probably tend to fish where they are the most familiar with and that is usually some place in their general area. But ya know when you think about it Im sure none of us would will flinch at driving 2 hrs for any number of reasons. I mean for whatever. The gas cost or eating out or other expenses won't stop us from going and doing something yet unless the fishing is really hot, most of us tend to stick fairly close to home. I for one am not intimidated to fish a body of water new to me, plus there's plenty of good available info on here to help out in such a case. Also I enjoy seeing new country, going somewhere new.
So why then does one fish mainly in their back yard? I can only speak for myself but I suspect this holds true for alot of folks. The answer is simple.
Time. As a fisherman, I am a sick enough puppy about it that I am hard pressed to devote 4 hrs driving time that for me could be spent fishing on my home waters.
There is no point to this, just an observation about human fishing nature.

Jeff, you make a good point there. As happy as I am for you that you stuck those big ones @ Diescoond , I am just as happy going to N.W. where it's closer to home, and I have a better chance of catching quantities of so-so fish.
Also, your honey holes don't really lend themselves to my favorite methods of crappie fishing.
It's funny that you made this post when you did because I was just wondering on Sun. why more people don't fish @ N.W.
As for you Tony, I have purchased ALL the minnows @ Gail's and the store manager has agreed not to disperse them without my written permission

Good catch Brad and Pete. Oh and boss. Like I said I'll be out there. It's about time to park my rig in My favorite spots for the rest of the year. Were yall at the line? I plan to try in front of the park and smith creek. Not this weekend as my brother and his wife will be in town but next weekend for sure.

Just to give the rest of us a chance would you fish with plain hooks at the next Bash. LOL
