Default Mixed bag at Diascund 11-17

Went back to the Vaidens Pond area which is a HAUL. Kept 7 crappie over 11"
with the 2 biggest 13-1/2 & 15-1/2. Caught em 50/50 on minnows & 16th oz jig w/orange-yellow squid skirt. Only fished each bridge 15 min on way back, caught a few keepers, few dinks, about a 4 lb gr carp(19"), and a nice channel cat (all on 4 lb Trilene). Already had the 7 crappie for fresh fish so tossed all the fish back at the bridges except the cat. Why? I have been buying steaks & pork chops & cleaning crappie for the War Dept. for 16 years now and by golly she can eat a catfish once in a while. I am sick of doing the majority of the cooking around here too and this way she can run to the store, pick up a cpl boxes of Catfish Helper and she's good to go for a few meals.
Crex drove up on my way in and we chatted for awhile. Good seein ya man.
He said he was comin back from Pops Marine picking up parts but I know he was checkin on me. I was purposely vague & evasive about the fishing.:D

Great pics Jeff....................Charlie & I picked up a few dinks at the 1st bridge, then made the long haul towards I-64, hoping the slabbers had moved to shallower water. No Way !!! We did get 4 cutie LMB, to 14", Charlie eats the nasty things, but they puke me. He also caught a nice 13" keeper near the pvc pipe. Take care, see all next week, am travelling to northern Md to see Grandkids this weekend and I hope a swift in & out on the Sesquanna River for smallies. Again, nice pics..

Nice fish Jeff. I think Perry and Pabst as you call him told me about the way back area. I will need a guide to get back there in the spring though.

Tony, from the looks of those pics., your reign as "Trash Fish King" may be over I think we should have the official "crowning" of the new king @ Hooters:D

I'm all for any coronation at Hooters. I just hate to be the guest of honor for
    that title.
In defense of my trash eatin ways, the catfish underwent a transformation and if ya fillet the red meat out they are not bad.
I have many fond memories of a little country place called Four Corners Tavern in Cat Spring, TX. Friday night was all the catfish you could eat for $4.95 and 75 cent longneck Pearl beer.
