I guess I'm crazy. I plan on fishing next weekend in Roanoke even though it'll probably be in the 50s at best and the water will be a bit cooler. I've seen/read lots of other sites where they seem to say the bite is off for everything since the "cool" season's here. I'm excited to get out and fish the cooler waters. Sure, I don't expect to have a 50 fish day but I do plan on having fun dressed up warmly and bundled in the necessary areas. I also plan on catching something even if it's a cold :D

Anyone else here with me? It seems most everyone here plans on fishing till the water dries up and since it hasn't I'm not sure why all these other dudes think the season's over. maybe we're a tougher lot of characters or dumber.......dumberer maybe.![]()

I fish year round. I figure even in the coldest months If I catch just one then that's one more than I would have sitting home.
NEED MORE COWBELL!!

There's always something biting. My goal this year has been to expand my fishing by several more species (fresh and salt) so that I can fish pretty much fish all year long.
I definitely don't let the cold weather stop me from fishing. Some of my biggest fish have come from the ocean in January. I froze my arse off but we slayed the stripers!
Keep on gettin' it. I plan to!
Currently a non-fishing slacker! (not for too much longer)
My favorite times to fish are from now until end of March. Catch a ride and come down our way in Jan. when we break ice to get on those perch. Bundle up and fill the livewell.
Fishdoc, tell him about those Kerr crappies in Jan.![]()
Father of 4 time bash winner. At least I'm pretty sure
We had some great luck on the Appomattox last Dec. and Jan. Chris we'll have to hook up since you're local.
Life's too short to fish with dead minnows!
dec. and jan. are two of the best months on buggs, the yrs it don't freeze in jan. last jan. the crappie stayed on the brush piles rite on thru jan, we usually lose them for bout a month then. i guess the go deep. they stayed on the same piles til may! catch a couple hundred a day, most days.
You know it is a funny thing...fish are hungery year around! Some people I think just don't realize it.
This only my opinion, but nothing you can say will change my mind. That makes it a FACT.
Today is a Blessed Day and a Prosperous Day
Good to hear that you cats realize they need to eat (even occasionally) during the winter. I guess b/c it takes some effort to get on them most people hang it up and hibernate. I'm ready to go. Brad I might have to take you up on that trip. I need to get a pic of you with a fish since it seems Eric's the only one who catches them according to your pix. I'll be in touch.
