    Default Leaves on the water

Yesterday at Lake Prince I had island after island of leaves attacking me. Had to position my boat to try and block them. Messy time of year to try and fish for crappie. Couldnt' believe how big some of the leaves I saw were, mutants I say. Anyone else battling the leaves?

I fished a private pond the other day with willows around it. The biggest p.i.t.a. was removing leaves from jigs and not so much the cover on the top of the water. Hopefully these winds today pushed them all to one side of the pond so there's less debris to deal with this week when I return.

The leaves made Fishing Diascund Friday pretty tough.

one of our best holes was covered by leaves sat. we just pitched jigs in the holes and tried to weave a route thru them back to the boat. i've seen many times that where the leaves are the thickest, so are the crappie. probably the 'eddie' effect...if it gathers leaves, it gathers plankton, minnows....crappie!

    Default found some leaves

Today I went to the Gap, Dutch Gap and hit the pond I like there. I found the edges covered in leaves. Only landed a LMB but did wrestle with a nice slab that came up to the bank and got off after seeing my sunglasses :D .The hit was so light I didn't set the hook and when I tried he was on the top of the water spitting the slider out. I know where they're at though and that's half the battle. The leaves were all along the edge which I thought would lead to a few more fish but running parallel and even tossing into landed nothing. It was still pretty and it's nice to be able to get to places around that pond that were inaccessible to fishing but since the leaves have fallen are now available. More reports to come in the following weeks.
