Default Annual Yellow Perch/Crappie Bash @ Northwest River Chesapeake Va.

please post any info about the get together here. Last year some folks did not realize there was also pot for the largest crappie. There will be an optional pot of $5 per person, per division to be paid for the largest yellow perch(single) and largest crappie(single) by weight. Fsih does not have to be alive just fresh. Prize will be split between the winner in each division. Bob's usaully has plenty of minnows at the ramp but i will check as time gets closer. Start time is 8am with weigh in at 3pm at Bob's. You can use any boat ramp you like just check in and weigh at Bob's. You can fish any number of people out of you boat. There is no recipricol license so if you plan to fish down river get a NC license as well. There is plenty of good fishing above the line too. I have tried to put up info as i remember it from the past Bashes.

Please keep in mind that all of this content is based on what we have done in the past. NOT ideas that i thought up.

from what I gather I.T. turns on earlier than NWR.

I havent looked at the moon, I would think it needs to be scheduled around the Feb full moon?

the issue with indian town is that the indian town creek landing probably won't accomodate all of us, unless it's vastly improved. the alternative is launching at coinjock. c.rex can tell you all about how fun that is. i agree that indian town will likely have better yellow perch fishing, though.

hehe. didn't know i could see results before voting... jd raises a good point about the moon. i gotta think they'll be laying eggs on the 29th. why is 12 feb. your choice? just later into the preacher season? you might be right.

most of the y/p in I/T spawn in march. they show around jan 15 but most are males. hot and heavy the middle of feb from my years of fishing down there. a little tip. most people that fish I/T think when the big bite ends most people think it's all over but run back into I/T creek and fish the cypress knees. thats where most spawn. this is to mike i thought this was va. crappie.com:D:D:D but i do agree that its only 15 minutes further but most fellow anglers do not have a permit.
