    Default Diascund Res.

Hey Horseshoer going to Diascund Res tomorrow. Is there plenty of room to get under both bridges? Thanks Tony

The first one is never a problem. The 2nd bridge is tight but pool level will allow it. I sit in boat seat on 8" pedastal (and 2-3" swivel) on top of johnboat benchseat and I can take my hand while sitting and press against underside of bridge and move the boat like that to give you an idea. People troll thru
back & forth underneath it in 16' walk-thrus w/windshields no problem. You
should have no problem unless you are in a very high profile boat. The biggest pain the 2nd bridge affords for most is that you have to operate with your rod tip very near the waterline to set the hook without banging your rod against bridge, and when you land a fish it's a little different -some reel them up almost to the rod tip to get em boated some use net but both can put you at greater than normal risk of losing fish depending how boat is positioned and how close to pilings you are. Good luck and tell us how ya do. I am going for a shore trip to Diascund in a few min., will do same. The weather has warmed and the coves should be holding some fish. Beyond the 2nd bridge the first cove to the left AFTER the main lake channel hooks to the right has been good for me in the past. Back of cove any structure in about 4-5'. Good luck.

Default Wish I'd had time to take boat out

I fished for 1-1/2 hrs and used minnows/jigs about the same amount. There was bait everywhere and surface popping going on all over. Caught a pile of fish for time I was there but all small. Hadn't been there 10 min and had crappie, bluegill and pickeral covered and caught 2 bass later. Had a 16th oz
white maribou jig on one same weight chart, curl-tail on another and slip-floated the minnows.Went by ramp on way back and 1 rig there at 4:30 parked in #4 hole in the parking lot so safe bet traffic was light today with the wind forecast. Here's a couple pics I snapped when I first got there. That limb is in 1 ft near shore and about 5-6 ft at far end, 1-3 ft where the stick-ups are to the left of it. Handy place to scratch the fishin itch little pull-off to park at right there. Take care.

The 2 pics almost the same is this feeder coming toward me from the main lake. The other photo is just facing away 180 degrees where it has passed under the road and tails out into the little swamp you see.

I don't recognize the area but then I've only been there twice. We did real good in June a few years ago. Straight out from the ramp keeping to the right of the island. Then once past the island bear to the right and there is some 20-25 ft deep water. Thats where we caught most of them.
