Have you ever fished the Chowan for crappie? I have many times but never really got into them. Usually put in at Gatesville and have tried all of the creeks in that area and main river. I have caught some nice bass down there tho.

I have a buddy back home( SE NC) that fishes the Chowan regularly. I have never fished it. I've only been in this area for one year. The Chowan is a big place. I don't know if I'd know where to start, but I am sure going to try it. We are building a house on the Perquimans River, so that is where I've been fishing and probably will 'bout everyday.

Use to be this time of the year when you went across the bridge into Herdford and looked out towards the sound, it was wall to or rather bank to bank boats fishing for yellow perch.

I used to fish for yellow perch, still do if I get the chance. We call them Redfin back home. Where do you fish typically?

Last few years we have cut down on our traveling so much. We still hit Tull's creek near Moyock for crappie and this time of year North river is good for yellow perch. We go over to Kerr for a week every March and then a few more shorter trips during the year. Sure wish that lake was closer. Some of us on the Va forum have a get-together once in a while somewhere. Please consider yourself invited to any of them we have in the future.

Nope, never been to that one. Use to go to Perquimans. Pasquotank, Yeopin, Pembroke, Chowan, Hall's and a few more I can't remember the names. During the summer we go to Newbegun near Weeksville and fish for white perch. Lots of fun with ultralights and beetle spins.

Thanks. I'll definately keep these places in mind. I'll keep pop in on the Viginia forum from time to time to see what's going on. You'll definately see some more of my post. Hopefully I'll have some good news for you.
