Well, this was going to be a great weekend. Bassarama was in town. Told my son (almost 5yrs) that this was his weekend. We hit the bassarama Friday night. We had fun. He woke me this morning, smiling saying "get up, lets get started!" To his surprize, I popped up and we got ready to start our day. First, to my dads to grind down/dull his new , $1.00 pocket knife. Done, quick visit with the Grands. Second, off to the boat ramp (without our boat) to watch the action. We hiked, climbed, threw rocks in the river. Third, bought a few dozens minnows and off to the lake to meet Brother-in-Law for a trip on the pontoon and hit a couple of brush piles. Fourth, stopped for drinks and snacks. My son enjoyed a SpongeBob icecream as a breakfast dessert. (At this point I am Super Dad) Especially, cause we are due to meet up with Brad Reedy (From the board) for some Appomatox river crappie on Sunday. Get to the lake ahead of the pontoon. Corks and minnows off the pier and he gets to cast while I untangle lines for him. Fun! Pontoon arrives, lets go. Load boat. Brother in law ask me to back boat a few more feet to float the boat. No problem. I step off dock (about 1-1.5 feet down to ramp concrete). Well, I chose to step onto the one place where the concrete was missing, a nice 45° angle edge. My 200lbs roll my ankle nicely, and I land nice and square on my opposite shoulder. I have no idea where my hands went. They are fine. Okay, 4.5 hrs at the emergency room, no breaks, just stupid and beat up. Picked up crutches from my dad on the way home. My right foot will take no weight. Can't do much with my left arm.
Can't wait to feel it in the morning! Going to have to make it up to my son another time.
Sorry for the babblin'. Not much to do here. Seems I type fine resting here on the armrests.
Can't wait to see how you guys did with the yellow perch.
