Hi ALL,
Went out this morning, from 10AM - 11:30 caught 10 descent crappie and 1 Bass that was hangin out in the crappie hole ( 17 ft of water) (Black/Chart jig). Great day to be on the water. I would have stayed longer but I have some things to do today.:D

Sounds like you did good Mark. I was out working on horses early. I had 2
stops off Hwy 60 between Sandston & Prov Forge, and last place right next
to Little Cr Park entrance. There were boats out everywhere, especially around the Forge as usual. Had to laugh-on the Main Crappie Fishing Forum
there was a debate about putting out brushpiles and how secretive was everyone about giving out their locations. One dude said all he fishes out of is a camo boat so that he is not so visible on the water!! So this morning west of the Forge coming off hwy 106 is this complete Duck Hunters Special-
camo motor and skeins of camo netting -the total pkg. LOL. Trailer was even camo. I was back at 1 PM and it's so nice I would be tempted to run up to
Diascund just for a couple hr shore trip but having a new motor put in my shoeing truck and was told it "should" be ready today. Well no phone call yet and I am not one to pester until it's time to do so. Keith if you read this do
you know anything of S&W Motor Supply? They are there where the tracks cross 17 before you get to Pops' Hot Dogs. A couple of my clients and a couple other people recommended them. Had to put it in someones trust and they were the best plan I came up with.
Well Mark glad you caught some fish. Take care and keep the info coming.
There should be some news on here later, I think a bunch of the gang went
perch huntin on the Northwest River today. I have never been there but it
sounded like fun. I had a very nice invite to share a boat spot from one of the fellers but had to decline because of the truck thing.

Horseshoer don't know what's taking so long for someone to tell us what they did.I had plan to make a run up there after duck hunting this morning but the ducks were moving and we hunter till after 11 am. Oh well the season is over now so I guess I'll start getting ready for the Crappie spawn; turkey season; the striper run in the local rivers and golf.LOL Don't know when I'll get to work.:D

Yes, I was waiting for the other guys to chime in before I posted. We had a good day. I caught 2 to 3 dozen fish (1/2 dozen bass, about a dozen crappie, about a dozen yellow perch, and my first bowfin). I kept 4 crappie between 10-1/2" and 12" and one yellow perch that was just over 11". I had to leave at 3:00. I brought a nasty case of pink eye back from Florida due to allergies and it was starting to bother me again.Originally Posted by Andy Clayton

Jeff,
I dont know anything about S&W Motor Supply. I hope they do a good job for you. The Duck hunters were all out today at Chick Res. I went out today to burn up the gas but found a few good looking spots of structure. I decided to investigate further and thats where I caught the fish.

Hey Keith thanks for the offer and I may take you up on it. I responded to your offer earlier but don't see it so guess it didnt post or it is somewhere else that I didnt look. Glad you caught some fish. I joked to IBNFSHN about you cooking up that bowfin, please don't be offended. It is meant jokingly I
know I pop off at the mouth at times. I first caught one in TX and did a little checking, I think grinnell is another name for them and they are supposedly an ancient fish species like the sturgeons. I caught a big one couple months back at Diascund, 8-10 lbs, and am still trying to get the slime, glaze, and crust off my landing net.

I know you are joking. It is all good. I put your name on the bowfin and put it back in the water.Originally Posted by horseshoer
