    Welcome to the board .

I'm not sure where the dead water is. I know there are some dead spots in the upper, central Chesapeake Bay due to no oxygen. As far as fresh water goes, I've never heard that. As far as I know, the rivers around here are pretty fertile.

I've never fished the Perquimans and Pasquotank Rivers. I'm sure someone here has, though. I fish mainly the Chickahominy River, and peninsula reservoirs.

    Again, welcome.

By the way, we like pictures. Post 'em when you got 'em.
    Regards,
    Rowland

Yeh, I haven't found any dead water myself, just wandering if there was any truth to the stories.
    Thanks
This tidal water is gonna take some git'n use to...
Not sure what the fish are like'n when the water fluctuates.
and a lot here lately... today went from three feet low back to normal( which is usually tidal six inches, always within a foot) in three hours.

Welcome to the board. I use to fish both the rivers a lot but haven't been down there recently. Perquimans use to be "the" place to go this time of year for yellow perch.

Stumpbumpers, back about 6 or 7 years ago while in a Bass Club we had a small tournament on the Pasquotank. If my brain remembers wright, that is the river which dumps into the sound at Elizabeth City. There was about 8 to 10 boats and it was it the late Spring. We put in at Elizabeth City, N.C. The winning fish was the only fish caught. The club always refered to that Saturday as the "Dead Sea Tournament".:D

welcome to the board. I know the waters you is talking about. I have done some bank fishing at a park in hertford(think I spelled it right) few dinks, but not bad. I know what you mean bout this "dark water" Comming from California is not right. But I have learned to fish it anyway. I am out in currituck I know of a few spots in camden also.

Thanks guys. I'll just keep plugg'n away. Build'n a house on the Perquimans River. Beautiful place. When I can't put the boat in I fish of the bank, ya know, when I need a quick fix. Works out real nice.
