Hello to all. First off, I would like to say I think this site is great! So much great information and it seems there is alot of great freindship here. I am so glad there is a site like this around.
Now with that being said, I also need to ask for some advice. Having gone through a divorce a couple years ago and losing my center console, I am now rebuilding my life and getting back into the swing of fishing. I recently purchased a 12' fiberglass jon boat. I only have a 30lb trolling motor to putt around around with right now.
So my question is, I was wondering if someone could tell me how far I need to go off the ramp of Indian Town to get onto fish. I have been reading a lot of members talk about the island but I'm sure that would be too far to troll to. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome!
Some of the other guys will have to fill you in on Indian Town, but I fished for years with only a trolling motor around here, and did "just fine".
Do gooder since April 26, 2009!
Welcome aboard. That would be way too far for just a trolling motor trip. Its about 7-8 miles from the landing to the island.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Yeah IB, I had a feeling it would be a hike. I had no idea it was that far! Thanks for the info so I don't get a wild hair to see if I could make it. I have been looking at the maps and saw it was a ways away from the ramp.
welcome to the board. it is a long trip from the ramp by t/m but can get to the mouth of the creek and do very well at that point. it has good depth plus the biggest crappies on the river i've caught right there on the right hand shore line. plus later in the spring that area is great for big bluegills. give it a try.:D tite lines jim.b
