Now with that being said, I also need to ask for some advice. Having gone through a divorce a couple years ago and losing my center console, I am now rebuilding my life and getting back into the swing of fishing. I recently purchased a 12' fiberglass jon boat. I only have a 30lb trolling motor to putt around around with right now.
So my question is, I was wondering if someone could tell me how far I need to go off the ramp of Indian Town to get onto fish. I have been reading a lot of members talk about the island but I'm sure that would be too far to troll to. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Mud1offroader, Where are You located in NC? I am in the Edenton Area. Maybe can chat up some local areas Where You might have a short run to some crappie. Welcome aboard. CF

Hey CF, thanks for the welcome. I am in the Currituck area. I have a freind who lives in Perquimens County and I was wondering about the fishing over that as well. It would be great if we could chat about the fishing around here sometime. Just shoot me a line.

Mud1, There are some places You can put in closer to fish in a lot of areas around. Perquimins is one. You can put in at Hertford and fish the S Bridge. Its only a couple hundred Yards. The railroad trestle is another place that I would think You could make it to with a trolling motor. It is probably 3/4 to 1 mile from the ramp. Both offer good crappie fishing at times. Pembroke creek at Edenton is good. Also Rocky Hock creek, Yeopim creek, and I'm sure there are some good access spots for the Pasquotank River. Never been in there but Sawyers looks good on the Pasquotank.CF

CF, I appreciate the info! I am not real familiar with the spots you are talking about but I'm sure I will have fun trying to find them and getting familiar with them!
