Good report FD. Sounds like things are alittle slow but I would guess with a little help from the weather man and a few days of warmer temps we might see a movment towards the spawning areas in a few weeks. If the temps stay cool and the water temp doesn't move into the low 50's could be longer.

PP about 15 miles the other side of South Hill on Rt 58 is the town of Boyton . Just west of the town still on 58 is the store Triangle. Minnows, food and limited supplies. You do get what you pay for. 4 doz. minnows is 48 minnows and that is what you get. Just about a mile past the triangle store is the Rudds Creek Day Use Area and boat ramp. You would use this ramp to fish Rudds and Butchers and even run down Butchers to Panhandle. About 6 miles or so beyond the Rudds and Butcher bridges you come to Rt 15 north. You will see a gas station and small shops. The Buggs Island Bait and Tackel shop is on the far right. Just before you get to 15 you will see a body of water on your right. That area is called Sandy. A good spring fishing area for the spawn. BB&T has everything you need and you get a good count on your minnows. There is also a boat ramp at the State Park on the right just before you get to BB&T. If you cross over the new bridge you can exit off on Rt 15 south. About 1 mile down the road is Bob Cats. Big inventory and plenty of minnows. 1/2 mile past BC is the Grassy creek boat ramp which gives you access onto that creek. There are many more but I'm getting typing cramps.:D

Buffalo and Bluestone Creeks are also good places to go for crappie in the late winter/early spring. There are nice COE ramps on each of those.

Hey Percy, your questions are not easily answered in this forum.
BI is a big place that takes most folks many years to learn.
To speed the process, you might consider hiring a GOOD guide for a day or two. I wish I knew of a good one to recommend

Wait, theres this cat called FishDoc on here and I heard he has caught a BI crappie from time to time.

PM him, seriously!! He's good and will put you on fish and give you lots of instruction.
