    Default Thursday on NW River

My friend and I hit the river yesterday and fished from 0800 - 1600. Caught loads of crappie, many small ones, but had 15 keepers. We also found 9 perch with five keepers. Also included the the total was a bass, two bluegill and one pickeral. It was an afternoon bite. The water is slightly stained from Bob's to the park and darker from there down. Our fish were spread out from 3 - 8 ft. Overall a great day of catching.

    Kevin,
Where were you fishing mostly if you don't mind me asking? Where you above Bobs or toward the park?

Good question, at the Bash 3 years ago, either Ranger or Panman went that way and caught a bunch of perch. We fished out there about 25 years ago out of a canoe and allways went that way, used to do pretty good on the perch.

That was before they had OB motors, correct? Did you strap the canoe to a mule's back or did you just leave it there all the time??

We fished both directions Mike. As noted earlier, the water was more murky below the park and we did not even get bit down there. We caught fish at every stop from the park to above the bridges. Location didn't seem to be a big deal. As I noted earlier though, many of them were small.

For the most part, the river is 12' in the channel, but there are much deeper holes. I've found water to 31'.
