    Default Skunked at Watershed

After an hour to break the ice at the ramp (2"+), the lake looked good and I had high hopes for my first trip to Great Creek Watershed Lake (Lawrenceville) for the year. All of last year's grass was dead & gone. Water temp ranged from 38* to 43* with 18" to 24" visibility. A bit of fog cleared quickly

and the wind didn't pick up until noon.

No matter. The fish were on a holiday. After 5 good spots bombed and I couldn't mark anything with random passes, I put the boat back on the trailer and came home.

Too bad. It was a gorgeous day and I was wondering where you were at. Stupid fish.
    Glad I could help

As I've said before, the fishing was great (especially considering the weather), but the catching was lacking. Still a great day and a good report.

Ewww!!! The S word. That word should be added to the list of wirty dords that we ain't sposed to say here. I was scared that word was going to rear its ugly head when I went out the other day. Lucky for me, I had a couple crappie and a yellow perch that saved my record of fishing almost 2 years without the dreaded S............ I returned those fish for being so courteous as to keep my record safe. See, I can work with Gods creatures.:DCF

Watershed is a nice lake & the fishing will pick up in the weeks ahead. I don't think I've mentioned that the single home with lakefront

is owned by Bryant Stith--local super-hero, basketball great, and coach of his high school team. His inspirational story is here
