One of the reasons I signed up was to thank Andy Curtis for posting the Blackwater info. Due to his tip, that's where we went yesterday.
Took my son and got a late start. Got on the water about 2:30, and fished till 4:30 or so. Water temp. 32.8°. Lot of large ice chunks floating around, but plenty of open water. We fished slip bobber/minnow rigs, and jigheads dressed with minnows in 10-12 ft of water. We caught appx. 25 yellow perch, and kept about 20. Largest ones were right at 12". Kept some of the smaller hook swallowers too. If it hadn't rained all morning, and I didn't have these fish to clean, I'd be back out there today.
Having these tonight.

good job and thanks for sharing those are some fat ones there and ice chunks means it getting better ,,,we were in solid ice earlier this week ...the rain may do a number on the ice and just around the bend good fishing water's should soon be accessible again,,,,I took advantage of the rain and worked today as a trade for a more pleasant day on the water ,,,,slip rigs and minners along with jig tipped minners is how I do it as well ....good to hear you took a youngin with ya keep the good reports or any for that matter coming on in ,,,,,,,,
Good Catchin'!!!
