Jim I almost went down there to test my lower unit out but decided it was too cold. Glad you found a few. Lower unit still not working so I may end up needing a new one. I have a friend coming back out to look at it again.

Once I get the boat back up again we will have to head out in my boat to repay the favor.

I fished NWR past the Carolina line today and picked up 10 nice size specks up to 1.4 lb. Fished for about 2 hours and left them biting in the afternoon.Caught all the fish at 10 foot with minnows on a naked gold and red hook. My brother went earlier and finished with 31 nice specks for the day. Biggest went just shy of 1.5 lbs. Water was starting to clear up.

It seems like the crappie on the NWR are a little bigger this year to me what do you guys think!! I have not been fishing there long but last year I didn't catch very many or 10 in.

my good buddy fished past the N/C line and did a lot better! water temp was 4 degrees warmer and a lot clearer down by moyock creek. i still need to get my N/C fishing permit for the year. i did take my own advice and spent 2 hrs checking out new waters and found 4 brush piles in 12 ft of water and caught my biggest fish off one of the piles it's 6:45 and i wish i was heading to the bash. tite lines JIM.B

I definitely agree with you. The specks are bigger than what they have been the past few years. These we are catching are quality fish a lot like we used to catch years ago.
