    Default Hey gang important

Keep those vests on, even if we can't all get along it's still better to fight and argue than have something like this happen.

Also have a plan to get back in the boat with little or no assistance. After a couple of minutes, hypothermia will have you too weak to climb back into the boat. My plan is to ride the power tilt on the motor to get back in the boat if I fall out.

Its also a good idea to keep a complete set of clothes in the boat to change into if you happen to get wet. I keep mine in a oversize ziplock bag. You could still freeze to death before you make it back to the landing even if you manage to get back in the boat.

I'm trying to envision this. Are you saying that you will climb onto your motor and somehow hit the switch to tilt it up?

My Tracker has trim/tilt in the front. console and rear. Early last summer
my wife went in the water and I used the trim to lift her up so I could pull her in! It works!

A lot of motors have the switch on them... So that would be a great idea but my 20hp doesn't have the electric tilt...

this does work but unfortunately my trim switch is at the console on the throttle and the other is up at the bow.beside the 12/24 volt switch for the trolling motor...older motors didn't have that on them .....

Some sort of deployable ladder is an option if using the motor tilt is not feasible.
