    Default Half day at Watershed

It was 24* and a breeze was starting as I put in just after dawn this morning at Great Creek Watershed Lake (Lawrenceville.) Stories about this lake remaining clear after heavy rain are NOT TRUE! The water had been higher, but it was still high and muddy--10" visibility. Water temps ranged from 44.5* to 47*.

The sky was fairly clear, promising a lot of warm sunshine.

Unfortunately, clouds rolled in and held temps in the 20s & low 30s all morning. Combined with gusty winds, the chill factor dipped at times to single digits.

The mat of grass that's choked this lake since spring is now dying and drifting free. Minus the grass, I can now get minnows down to 6' in 8' of water and find a few fish!!! I marked them at other depths, too.

By late morning, boat control and the chill got to be too much & I called it a day. Total catch: 4 specks from two different locations--not much of a day, but it signals this lake should be fishable (after the mud clears) until next spring when the grass returns.

Nice pics again. I was on a ladder water testing a roof at 7:30. The water was freezing before it hit the ground. I was thinking even Corker wouldn't be out on a day like this, I was wrong. You are a real trooper!

When I go to TMO lakes the outboard's in the garage & the 55# TM takes its place.

Not unless yours were a lot bigger than mine.

Nice looking lake. Had never heard of it before. It was cold off of the water, I can't imanage how cold it felt on it!!! Looks like Monday next week the temps are finally going to hit the 50+ degrees. Hope to fish somewhere.

Interesting how much colder your water temp and air temp is compared to Suffolk. I'm bringing my propane heater next time I go and it's this cold.
