Thread: Fishing Lake Kerr Questions

Is there anywhere in Clarksville you can rent regular old john boats? All I've seen on the net is expensive pontoon boats. Also where is a good place to stay and buy some minnows? Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about rental boats. Minnows are available at Buggs Island Bait and Tackle (BIBT) and Bobcats bait and tackle. The Lake Hotel and Best Western are two places to stay. There are also rental houses and cottages.

Clarksville Marina used to have small boats for rent, not sure if they still do.

River Traders is a small store that is located next to Staunton River State Park... it is at the upper end of the lake where the Dan and the Staunton come in... he rents small Jon Boats. His name is Bob and he is a great guy to deal with. The last time that I was in there back in the summer he handed me a catalog and asked me to circle some things that I thought he should order for crappie fishin'!!!

I don't know where it is that you are planning on fishing but from the rivers to Clarksville will be a long ride on a small jon boat...
