Fished from 0800 - 1500. Weather was cold a.m., but clear. Clouds thickened & wind picked up. Bite was almost dead. For the day: 3 dinks & 2 greenies.
holy smokes not good. but sounds like a good to reflect on other trips. and also better than not being thier.
Never take the advice of someone who has not had your kind of trouble!
At least you were fishing, I was out in that weather near the water in Hampton, it was misreable.
Yes, it did become miserable on the water & that's why I made it a half-day trip. An hour or two without a bite & I'm ready to go do something else. The same thing happened last year at this time. The Diascund bite slowly dropped off & no matter where I looked, nothing. Meanwhile, I started fishing at Pickett (a much smaller lake) & they jumped in the boat throughout most of the winter. Go figure.
well now i dont feel so bad about my zero day.
They shut off at Beaverdam when the water gets really cold at times as well. Some trips I don't even get a bite and others I catch over 100.I never know what kind of day I'm going to have until I get out there.

there is definantly a switch. sometimes i go and catch and sometimes i go and scratch my butt. I am just starting, but i wish i could pattern these fish a bit better. anyone have tips to help pattern these fish, such as weather, temp, water condition, moon phase, pms?
