Thread: Beaverdam Report 12-1-09

Looked at the weather and winds for the week and made a late decision to try Beaverdam on Tuesday. Overall a slow day. Did not get on the water till about 10:00 AM. Heavy frost at home even made it difficult to get the doors open on my truck. Off the water by 4:00 PM. Fished some of my usual spots for a couple of hours and nothing. Wind was making it hard to hold the boat in place. Decied to hit some of the creeks on the calm side of the lake and started catching fish right off. Ended the day with 18 fish total. 9 crappie with 7 being keepers between 10-12", 5 bass including the 21"er pictured below, 2 pickerel including one that went 21" as well and a couple of very small ring perch. All fish caught in 10 to 12' of water close to the bottom on plain minnows and jig/minnow combos. Had to be sitting still or barley moving to get a bite. Had the lake to myself. Wish the wind would have died down in the afternoon so I could have really fished some of the areas I've had sucess in the past but not today.

Really trying to fight a cold so proably not the best day to be on the water. Paying for it today. Hopefully this will be my one annual cold for the winter!

it is hard to fish in the wind. for a light biting fish for sure. sounds like the rod got bent over. which makes for a great day anytime. nice bass good job on the specks. get well and back after them.

I'll admit that catching a bass is like dancing with a fat chick (fun, as long as nobody sees you), and even though you might not have been aware of the rule that you infracted, I just can't let this type of thing go unpunished.

Shame, shame, shame. Posting a pic of a green carp and none of a crappie. As punishment I have talked with Mike Tomlin and the Steelers will now beat the Packers by two touchdowns instead of just one on Dec. 20th. :D

I would say congrats - but I don't want the rules chairman coming after me!

What am I saying? Of course I was aware of the rules. I posted it anyhow because I like dancing with fat females of any species including bass, catfish, pickerel, gar, and even bowfins. Amit it fellows every time we go out we are looking to "hook up" with some overweight females that will put a bend in our rods! I'm just not ashamed to show it. Heck Hog Choker I believed you felt the same way given your screen name. :D

Tap as far as the Steeler - Packer game you had better hope Big Ben stays healthy or the Steelers may not score 2 more offensive touchdowns the rest of the season. :D

Are demerits earned here the same thing as public whippings? If so I may need to earn a few more. :D
