    Default Got a new toy

I was able to pickup a 798si for $650 on a Friday sale. Now I need some training LOL!! I have seen you guys tlak about these units previous so does anyone have any pointers. I am putting it on my boat this week so I can use it at the bash. Should I download the updates first or what?? Any help would be appreciated.

Were you actually at the store in TN or online?

I was looking for one too but the $1k price tags of those things keeps me away.

Now you have done it. You are going to need a hard hat cause you are going to run ashore staring at that screen! lol It is a never ending learning curve. It is so cool to see the bottom and just how it is. I spent hours just looking at stuff. I know where a sink is on the bottom and a boat.

    jim b,
I would be happy to go with you on the NW and scout around. I fish there quite a bit. I am always looking for someone to fish with. Shoot me a PM when you want to go.

dang I remember at the boathouse one the coosa river in bama pops would take his coffee mug and drop it down till he couldn;t see it and mark the string it was on... and say we fishing this deep today...bout 6" to a foot shallower always worked during the spawn ......
