Sometimes old people forget where they are going. We ended up a LCR.
Slow morning but the afternoon bite was good. Water temp. was back up to 59. Water still stained a bit but is slowly clearing. Most fish were caught at 8-12 using minnow tipped jigs. Red chartreuse tubes worked best. Had a great day fishing with Roy. Discovered we lived blocks away from each other when were kids. Enjoyed the day Roy.
Roy started off wiping my clock. I did not catch a fish until after lunch.
Finally the tables turned.
20 Keepers 11-13 all good looking fish
Roy's ring perch for the day. Think I broke his streak today.
Roy promised not to tell anyone where my hot spot is.
Kept a eye on Corker all day. Look at him showing us how big the crappie he caught were.

Good job Dood and Roy! Looks like ya'll had a great day!:D
good catching there doodlum & roy & richard. that's a good size crappie avg you guy's are catching. tite lines JIM .B
WTG Doodlum and Roy, nice mess of fish. That perch Roy cought had color problems. Nice report and pic's.
Thats it. If Roy is gonna start yankin fish outta my backyard then I am gonna put a gas motor on The Onion and raise heck on the Pamuncky perch population. You guys did ok for a buncha old geezers. Did ya have to rent an extra boat to haul all the oxygen bottles, inhalers, and oil retention enemas around with ya?
That pic of Cork is not in reference to any fish, even he aint that big a liar. I suspect he was demonstrating his estimated length when he saw Shoer whizzin out the back of his tub one day.
Do you fellers have some kind of agreement worked out for if one of you dont make it the full day on one of yur trips?

And git the hell away from that cattail stand there where Lakeview Dr deadends. If you keep those cattails to yur left and round the corner to the left you will see the remnants of an old beaver hut on the left, maybe just a cpl hundred yds past the cattails. The hut wood is scattered clear back into 8-12 ft of water and it is an automatic go-to spot for me. I had a blast one day anchored back in that area the bank is almost vertical at places its so steep and it was autumn and I kept hearing this rustling of leaves. A coon was scaling the thing and backsliding. I mean again & again. I had been thinkin dipchit, go at an angle, then it became apparent this dude was recreating, possibly scratching his belly. That sucker would scale up as high as he could and when he lost traction he'd spread-eagle with all 4 legs extended and take the ride down! Wish I woulda had a camera with movie capabilities at the time.
Do you fellers know that DGIF stocked a bunch more walleye in there? They put 132 of em in but not fry, all were grown fish in that the majority were 12-14" long but some as big as 24" were stocked. I have access to the lake (legal) over the winter months and if anyone wants to target em or just fish there in general I can take ya out there, with no fees, launch times, or county regs. I have a client who lives on the lake and I can launch at his place and go as his guest without him needing to go with.

Dang Pete I thought we were at Beaverdam not LCR. Must be getting confussed in my old age. :D
I thought I had caught a world record perch on there for awhile now some people say it was a green carp? Can't believe that I didn't catch a perch all day. Must be losing my touch. May have to head back to the Pamunkey to get my fix.
Had a real fun day fishing with you Pete and can't wait to do it again. You were a great host and guide. LCR is a beautiful lake and the fish we caught were all nice size and healtly. It was nice how you let me catch some fish in the morning while you were showing me around. It won't be my last trip there thats for sure.
Corker would like to catch up with you and spend another day fishing. Now that the days or shorter maybe we can only fish for 8 or 9 hours in a day instead of the 15 or so we the first time. It took me a week to get over that!
Shoer let me know when you want to go to the Pamunkey and I'll take you anytime. May have to take you up with that wintwer trip to LCR as well.
All us old guys made it back in alive and looking forward to going again!
I'm feel pretty lucky to be able to spend some with these guys. Thanks again.
