An old high school buddy joined me today for a nice trip on LCR. He isn't retired yet, so we get to fish (and solve all the problems of the world) only a time or two each year.
It was a nice day, but a bit windy (outside the boat, too :D) We hammered the boat up the lake looking for places to hide and planned to let the wind help us get home.
Shortly after getting bait in the water, my friend got bit by this 13-incher--our largest fish of the day!
The bite wasn't as good today as the past several trips. Most spots gave up no more than one or two. Here's the only double of the day (and my buddy's first ever--he was excited!)
Late this afternoon he spotted this doe at the edge of the lake & when we eased around the point, there was the buck and a couple more does. My friend doesn't know CF, so he was happy to see Bambi & family.
All day we alternated creeks & coves with Doodlum & Roy and didn't actually catch up with them until we were all headed back to the barn.
By the end of the day, we had 12 keepers & probably caught a total of 20 specks and a few non-specks. It was a beautiful day on the water and a nice opportunity to visit with an old friend!
Your buddy may speed up his retirement now..
Beautiful lake..
