Had a great day at Beaverdam today. Finalley got into some real nice crappie. Started fishing at 9:00 AM. Caught 3 bass before I could get all set up including this one that weight in at 4-1/2 lbs. Did not catch the first crappie until 1:45PM. Got into a nice school in 15' of water spread out over about a 50 yard strech of shoreline. They were mixed in with a school of bass chasing a big school of bait. Ended up catching around 30 crappie and 25 or so bass. Most of the crappie were over 10". Had one citation that went 15" and weighted in at 2 lbs even, had another that went 14-1/2" and then 7 more that were between 13" to 14". Left the fish bitting at 4:00. Best day since early last spring. Usually catch plenty of numbers here but not this many nice fish. All fish were caught in 14' to 16' of water close to the bottom. Most on minnows but some on jig/minnow combo.
Did not catch any ringers today which was a suprise. :D

WTG, Roy! (I may be sorry I showed you this lake.)
Nice Job Roy. I saw your name in the fishing report in the Times Dispatch. You're famous.
Life's too short to fish with dead minnows!
Good Job Roy!!! WTG!:D

Good to see you holding up something other than a perch. :D Nice job, those look like Eastland slabs. Once again, sorry about the upcoming Packer loss to the Steelers. :D

nice job roy i agree with rap has that thick grass started to die off yet? i was not to impressed with the lake after fishing it at the bash. never fished that heavy and so deep of grass before, may have to give it another shot. if you decide to try indian town creek this winter in feb i'll be glad to show you some hot spots. been fishing the river for about 25 years plus it has a decent crappie population to. i got my first yellow perch citition fishing some spillways on the pampkey river a long time ago. have not been back there in 25 years. never fished the river in a boat before but you do a great job of catching tite lines JIM.b
