Default Trip ruined by stow-away banana

Jim.b and I hit his private pond honey hole today for about 7 hours. Unaware that the phallic fruit is believed to cause bad luck for crappie fishermen, Jim packed one for his lunch.

After hitting the water, we searched and searched for signs of fish or structure. Nothing. Finally, we picked up one near the lake's overflow pipe--

    then a few more.

Size was excellent & we culled at 11.5". It was a strange sensation tossing 11s because they were too small.

After drifting corks around the overflow pipe and one decent laydown, Jim decided to switch from corks to jigs. He started casting a 1/16 jig with a John Deere plastic (Jim, you'll have to post what that thing is called) and was soon catching one on every cast. Size continued to be mostly 10" to 11.5" with an occasional 12-incher.

One little cove was especially productive and gave up this 15.25-incher (1.97 lb.) along with a few dozen other keepers and "regular" size fish.

Finally, I concentrated more effort on the jigs & started catching one for every three Jim hauled in.

The non-stop fish-on-every-cast action lasted so long that we must have caught over 200 fish for the day.

Oh, yeah, here's the rest of the banana picture.

Notice the 17 slabs that made the trip home to see my kitchen? If it hadn't been for that dam nanna, we could have REALLY caught some fish!

Jim, you are a fishing machine! Today was fantastic. Any time you need someone to keep you company on the water, CALL ME!!!

There are 3 transom mountable TMs:
    - Traxxis 40, variable speed w/ Maximizer (this is my workhorse trolling motor)
    - Endura 55 (extra muscle for long runs)
    - ancient J.C. Penny brand 10 speed (I set this one at a 90* angle and control it with a FWD/REV switch wired back to my fishing position. All it does is keep the bow of the boat into the wind or let me drift the boat sideways using this motor plus the Traxxis.)
